Bio

Roxanne Lemmon was born and raised in the Mississippi delta and began singing as a child. "I started singing in the shower when the movie Little Mermaid came out and I drove my parents crazy! I never stopped singing!" Lemmon later joined her church's choir and traveling ensemble and landed a role in Theatre Memphis' "A Christmas Carol." However, it was in her church ensemble where she found her voice and love for Motown. At 18 years old, Roxanne taught herself to play the guitar and moved to Memphis, Tennessee to pursue a career in music. She was a Memphis musician for 10 years, and was signed with an independent music label out of Nashville for 5 years called Off Music Row. For four years she was a volunteer for the St. Jude Marathon, and would play for the participants during the race. During those four years, Roxanne witnessed an amazing father running in the marathon while pushing his son in stroller who was fighting his battle against cancer. It was at that moment Roxanne realized she wanted to use her music to help others.

Roxanne Lemmon graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She also works with children, teens, and adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and teaches social skills using music therapy services. Roxanne’s high-energy teaching styles capture children’s attention especially when she rocks out while playing her guitar! Her love for music, teaching children, and spirited personality keep children and adults entertained while learning. “I believe every person can find freedom through the power of music!”
